Program History:

As an industry leader and trusted name, Air Methods has built its reputation on a commitment to quality patient care and safety in aviation operations. Since 1980, Air Methods has been dedicated to air medical transport and has grown to become the most experienced air medical operator in the industry.

Based in Englewood, Colorado, we operate 306 rotor and fixed wing aircraft at 237 bases that serve 43 states. Our transport services are comprised of scene and inter-facility transports. Air Methods’ professional workforce is 3,000 strong. Within our community-based services division we have 25 air medical programs that operate at 114 bases with about 1,500 crew members. Nearly 600 pilots serve our hospital-based services division customers.
