Kevin Reynolds is Vice President of Air Clinical Operations for CareFlte. CareFlite, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, was established in 1979 and is the 2nd oldest flight program in Texas. Mr. Reynolds is responsible for operations of the air clinical division, the communication center, air clinical safety, and corporate compliance.
Mr. Reynolds has served in EMS since 1995 as a paramedic. Mr. Reynolds worked in both urban and rural environments and was one of the first critical care paramedics to operate in a pilot program in Ellis Co., Texas. Commonplace today, the paramedics in that program were trained in advanced physiology, RSI, ventilator management, and critical care medications. After years of working on ground ambulances, Mr. Reynolds became a Flight Paramedic for CareFlite and flew out of the Methodist Medical Center base in Dallas. Mr. Reynolds has operated in single and twin engine aircraft, SPIFR, fixed wing, and critical care environments.
Since assuming a leadership role at CareFlite, Mr. Reynolds has guided the program to excel clinically, training with and transporting IABP, adult ECMO, Impella, high risk obstetrical care, and other complex clinical disciplines. Through a philosophy based on collaboration and service leadership, he has helped administer an outreach education program that delivers high quality training to underserved hospitals, EMS providers, and community crisis resource centers.
When not working, which is rare, Mr. Reynolds enjoys spending time with his wife, Sarah, and their three children. Hobbies include reading, Civil War history, and spending time with his three dogs.
Mr. Reynolds graduated magna cum laude from Franklin University with a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management. He also holds an MBA with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration from the University of Texas at Tyler. He is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society and currently holds the following professional certifications: EMT-P from the Texas Department of State Health Services and FP-C from the IBSC/BCCTPC.
